Art & Kathy Luz are enjoying their first visit here to Hotel California! In typical fashion, the first two days were cloudy and even a little drizzle (ALWAYS for our visitors from Michigan!)
Art surprised Rick with not one, but TWO frozen bricks of National Coney Island chili! And not the little 3 pounder that came at Christmas with the Coney Kit. Each brick is 5 pounds... and it needs water added to it.... we should have chili for a long time now.... THEN, Art unpacked 30 frozen White Castle hamburgers! I got a couple of them, but Rick ate the rest... including 4 every morning for breakfast!
During the week we hiked Torrey Pines State Park, walked around LaJolla & Old Town, toured the Mission San Juan Capistrano, and watched for the Swallows to return as they do every year; Had a great lunch at the Sun Dried Tomato Cafe. This morning we hung out in the Village of Carlsbad for a great breakfast at Don's Country Kitchen and then since the sun came out today, hung out at our pool. Art was the first person to jump in the pool since we owned it! Rick felt great peer pressure, and finally joined him. Kathy & I have stuck with just the hot tub!
Sunday: Temecula Wineries!!!
