SuperBowl Sunday: Detroit -15, San Diego 85!

OK, that's no football score... it's the weather in Detroit and Vista! While it's only been in the 50's the past couple of weeks, it got HOT here today! 85 degrees! Julian just told me that Weather.com says it will be -25 degrees tomorrow at 8am when he has to go to class at Michigan State University! ouch!

Meanwhile, I have gone back to school and am attending CALIFORNIA State University! I have signed up for an Electronic Design and Web Page Development program. It's 10 weeks, and I go to class for 8 hours every Saturday. Maybe they'll teach me something! Maybe my Blog and web pages will improve. We can only hope! hahaha

The school is 10 miles away; it's the San Marcos campus and brand new. It is still strange to me to drive up and see mountains and palm trees! Here are two pictures.

Tomorrow we plan to list our condo with Jim the Realtor, even though the interior painting isn't finished, and the exterior painting hasn't started. Here's how it's looking with all our remodeling so far: http://nancyusa.blogspot.com/
While not as bad as Detroit, the market is diving here too now. We'll see what happens!

Oh, and in case you don't believe some of the outrageous offers some airlines publish, my GM friend, Debra Schmidt, just got that Spirit special for $8.00 each way! Detroit to Los Angeles! With tax: her round trip is $37.00!!! I'll spend that much driving to the LAX airport to get and return her! So, sign up for those alerts, and maybe YOU will get a great deal. (This one is CRAZY isn't it!) She be out here in mid-February, in fact, she's arriving in LA the night before the Academy Awards! Maybe we'll go crash the event!

Did I tell you Julian is President of the MSU Cycling Club now?! I think he made them an offer they couldn't refuse! He has to get them all working on organizing and running the MSU Road Race in March. Go watch them! (bring food!)

Rick and I have a lot to learn about all the vegetation out here. And our red clay rocky soil is something else to dig in and deal with. Oh, and GOPHERS! I think they could film "Caddy Shack II" on our property! It reminds me of that kids' arcade game where the gopher heads pop-up and you hit them with a mallet! I need a big one! They are eating the roots of our shrubs and trees!

Rick's been busy laying the foundation for a big shed (aka a California "basement"). He's putting it in one of our side yards, the former owner's dog yard. (It's bigger than our condo yard all by itself!).

Here's some pictures of him planting our first orange tree, and of some of the varied plants on our property.
